At Park Rapids Area Schools, we embrace our mission to prepare every student for tomorrow’s challenges. We are proud of our history of success and grateful for our communities’ support.
In order to continue providing students with a healthy, safe and productive learning environment, the district put forward a single-question referendum for local voters to consider on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Voters approved the ballot question, allowing the district to invest $51.65 million to address our most urgent needs at Park Rapids Area High School and Century School.
THE PLAN
The voter-approved plan will improve security at our buildings, renovate and expand our 50-year-old high school, and add space for career and technical education (CTE). The plan will also realign grades, bringing together our 7-12 graders at the high school and our PreK-6th graders at Century. Further, the plan will create another drop-off and pick-up loop at Century and provide a new bus garage. Educational standards change over time, and we must adapt our schools to meet those standards now and into the future.
